Farrah’s Liquor Collective: From Vineyard To Your Glass
Farrah’s Liquor Collective is Canberra’s producer‑to‑consumer liquor warehouse, founded to connect you directly with boutique wine, beer and cider and spirits at genuinely sharp prices.
By cutting out layers of middlemen and working directly with wine‑makers, distillers and brewers, we pass supply‑chain savings straight to your cart, often delivering discounts of up to 70% off typical retail pricing on premium wines.
Meet Matt Farrah
Farrah’s Liquor Collective is led by founder Matt Farrah, a Canberra businessman and wine producer with more than 30 years’ experience across every link in the liquor supply chain.
Matt opened his first bottle shop, Campbell Liquor Discounts, straight out of university and has spent the decades since learning retail, wholesale, supermarket operations and vineyard management from the ground up.
From Local Bottle Shop To Major Vineyard Owner
After successfully growing his Canberra bottle shop, Matt and business partners developed and revitalised a local supermarket, building a reputation for value and community‑minded retailing.
In the 2000s, Matt co‑founded a Marlborough (New Zealand) vineyard venture that grew to around 800 acres, becoming one of the region’s largest independent vineyard owners and launching a family of successful wine brands.
That vertically integrated business took Matt from vine maintenance and grape growing through to winemaking, branding, distribution and export—experience that today underpins how Farrah’s Liquor Collective evaluates and selects every product on the shelf.
A New Kind Of Canberra Liquor Warehouse
Farrah’s Liquor Collective opened its 2,400‑square‑metre warehouse in Fyshwick as a new concept in alcohol shopping, a “farm gate” for liquor rather than a traditional bottle shop.
Instead of charging producers to appear on the shelf, we partner directly with 150–200 boutique Australian makers and specialist importers, then handle storage, retail, wholesale delivery and online sales in one central hub.
By consolidating freight into pallet lots, offering warehousing and distribution, and stripping out costly marketing programs and middlemen, we can sell wines that typically retail for far more and often at prices in the teens while still allowing producers to make money.
The result is better value for customers, fairer economics for small producers and access to labels you simply will not find in mainstream liquor chains.
How We Choose Every Bottle
Everything on our floor is hand‑selected, not just listed.
Every wine, beer or spirit must pass both our internal tasting process—shaped by Matt’s decades of winemaking and retail experience. Our dedicated tasting panel scores each product for quality and value.
We taste extensively to answer three simple questions:
- Is it genuinely well‑made and delicious?
- Does the price represent exceptional value at our direct‑from‑producer pricing?
- Do we understand it well enough to recommend it confidently to the right customer?
Only products that meet our standards on both quality and price make it onto the warehouse floor or into the online store, giving customers confidence that everything they pick is a safe, high‑value choice.
Fiercely Independent, Boutique And Customer‑First
Farrah’s Liquor Collective is fiercely independent, with no allegiance to multinational portfolios or big‑brand marketing budgets.
We focus on boutique, small‑batch local and international producers, many of whom had previously struggled to access the Canberra market due to the high costs of traditional retail distribution.
Because we are not paying for glossy fit‑outs and national advertising campaigns, customers benefit from a no‑frills warehouse environment where the savings show up in the bottle, not on the walls.
Our team takes pride in friendly, down‑to‑earth service backed by deep product knowledge, helping everyone from casual weekend shoppers to trade buyers discover something new that fits their taste and budget.
For regulars, our membership and loyalty offers unlock ongoing discounts and exclusive deals on wine, beer and spirits.
Supporting Small Producers Across Australia
Small vineyards and micro‑distilleries are the lifeblood of Farrah’s Liquor Collective.
By offering storage, logistics and sales through retail, wholesale and online channels, we give small Australian producers a commercially viable way to reach Canberra homes, restaurants and bars without sacrificing their margins to gatekeeping fees.
Our model supports between 150 and 200 boutique wine, beer and spirit makers at any one time, ensuring a constantly evolving range of labels and styles on our shelves.
For customers, that means the opportunity to explore unique Australian products from regional Rieslings and Pinot Noir to small‑batch gins and liqueurs that would otherwise be very hard to find locally.
