The Islay barley story began with a single farmer in 2004. Since then, Bruichladdich's local barley initiative has developed into a rhythm, with an average of 18 farms supplying annually. Every harvest, the farming community gains more knowledge of what it takes to grow in Islay's challenging conditions.
