Carn Mor Strictly Limited Tobermory 2008/13YO virgin oak finish

This 13 year old Tobermory scotch whisky was distilled in 2008 at the Tobermory distillery on the isle of Mull. After an initial maturation in barrels this whisky was finished for an additional period of maturation in virgin oak casks. Prior to bottling the whisky was proofed back to 47.5% ABV, with no chill-filtration or colour added. 1554 bottles were produced.

Some tell-tale Tobermory whisky 'funk' is present in the glass with a classic 'chewy' malt style. The virgin oak finish has added layers of bright spice and cedar notes. The 'finish' has been extremely well managed, adding complexity in an elegant and subtle way. The palate has a great buttery-ness, pineapples, peaches, oranges, ginger spice and a delightfully dry medium-long finish.
